寶寶的聽覺神經自出生後即有功能，根據統計先天性雙耳中重度聽障的發生率約為一千個新生兒中約有 1 ~ 2 名。
為了「早期發現早期治療」，本院小兒科特別採用先進精準的檢測儀器，為新生兒聽力做篩檢，以提早瞭解寶寶是否有聽障問題。
聽力篩檢快速，不會對寶寶產生不良副作用。
此項檢查健保已列入給付，本院可提供篩檢服務，如新生兒原接生院所未提供篩檢服務或無法於出院前完成篩檢，出院後仍可攜帶寶寶或母親（寶寶出生 3 個月內）的健保卡儘快前往本院接受篩檢。
聽力篩檢未通過，請至耳鼻喉科作進一步檢查。
